Honesty in stories. Truth in words.

My Very First Vlog

(Finally), here is the vlog I promised last month! :) I was so nervous, so don’t laugh at my stumbling!!!! (Well, you can laugh. I would laugh at me.) Filming this was fun, despite the fact that the phone rang, my mom called for me, and the dog started barking. My Scarlet Fever rash hasn’t completely gone away yet either, hence a large sore on my lip and red spots on my face, but hey–no one cares, right?

Sorry the video is SO long…yikes, I knew I liked to talk, but who knew I could talk to a CELL PHONE for 12 MINUTES?!?! Sheesh.

I’ll let you watch it now.

I loved watching this!! I was so much fun to hear your answers to all the different questions!
And wow, you have a great way of organizing all the info for your story! I really like the binder idea. :)
And I totally relate to coming “home” to a certain book!! I have a series that’s like that for me. It’s so nice to re-read them every once in a while! I’ll have to check out “A Penny Parcel” :)

Awww, you’re sweet Jesseca! :) It was fun to do, and I want to do another one sometime in the future because I think it will get easier and easier the more I do it. :)
The binder idea worked really well for this book. I can see myself doing it again for another research-heavy story.
Oh yes, you MUST get A Penny Parcel. It is the best.
      Thanks for commenting!!! :)

Good job on the Vlog! Not as awkward as I was picturing. Lol! And phone ringing and dog barking just makes it more realistic ;)

Well, being a beta-reader was a first experience for me. It was a lot of fun!

    • Ivy says:

Thanks Olivia! Glad it wasn’t too awkward. ;-) I really should have just thrown the phone out of my room before turning the camera on…ah well, live and learn.

It was? You did a great job! I’m glad you enjoyed it–I enjoyed your feedback! :)

  3. That was such fun, Ivy! :D It was a great way to learn more about you, your writing, and especially the writing of “The Old River Road.”
Now I’m looking forward to reading the book even more. (Is that possible?)
And the phone ringing just made it “real.” ;)

I’m so glad you liked it! :)

Aww, thank you. :) You won’t have to wait long now–the eARCs are coming! :)

Good. :) Realism is always good.

Rosebud, Your first Vlog was very nice. You appeared relaxed, having fun, even with your phone call:) and with a sincere desire to answer each question on the blog just as if you were visiting with that person in your home. Nicely done.
You present a real love for all things books, from the heart endorsement of Avery’s book.

May our God continue to give you a story that glorifies Him and blesses your audience.

Love you more than you can possibly imagine..

And I literally can not wait to read your book!! It sounds so awesome. And I appreciate you being honest about your struggles in writing it. That makes me feel better. ;)

    • Ivy says:

Isn’t it?!? And yes, you MUST read Penny Parcel.

I hope it is awesome for you!!! Yes, struggles while writing; everyone has them! :)

  6. It was fun watching your vlog. You did a great job and you’re so cute. :)
And it was actually my first time to beta-read officially too. :P It was definitely a good experience to be on the “other side” for once, haha!

      Thank you, Victoria! :)

Wow, I didn’t realize I had so many first timers. That’s great though, especially since it was my first time needing betas! :)

  7. You did such a great job, Ivy! I love watching videos of people because I feel like I actually get to know them a little bit :)

You’ve got some great tips and I love how you had your notebook and favorite book to actually show us (I’m very visual).

I’m so excited for you and your awesome story. I can’t wait to tag along and see what the rest of your writing journey holds! It’s always painful, but I think the published product touching lives makes it that much more meaningful! Congratulations :D

    • Ivy says:

Thank you so much, Abi! Glad you were able to glean something from the video. :) I am very visual, as well.

Awww. *hugs* Thank you for that encouragement! I needed to hear it! :)
