Honesty in stories. Truth in words.

Liebster Award

Thank you so much Hope, for nominating me for the Liebster Award! The questions were fun. I apologize for any nonsensical answers to the questions…I answered these rather late one night.

award

Here are the rules:

– Thank the blog who nominated you and link back to them.

– Nominate up to 11 other bloggers to receive the award.  To be eligible, they need to have 200 followers or less.

– Answer 11 questions from the blogger who nominated you.

– Tell your readers 11 random facts about yourself.

– Give your nominees 11 questions to answer on their blog when they post their nomination.

My Nominees:

I’m terrible at nominating people. If you want to do this, please, by all means do! And make sure you tell me if you do, because I want to read it!

Eleven Questions from Hope:

#1 – Sword or bow?

Sword. Well, actually a pistol would be my first choice since I’ve had the most training in that area, but since that isn’t an option here I’ll go for the sword. :-)

#2 – Favorite jewel?

My birthstone: Ruby. (It even sounds pretty, too!) :-)

#3 – What book are you reading right now?

The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis, and Six Cousins; Family Reunion by Kelsey Bryant

#4 – Dragon or griffin?

Dragon. Griffins aren’t realistic enough and they scare me. (Sorry…that’s the non-fantasy-loving-Ivy coming out there.)

#5 – When did you start writing?

I began putting pen to paper ten years ago, but my parents tell me that I was quite the storyteller long before then.

#6 – What is your current favorite fiction book?

A Penny Parcel by Avery E. Hitch, followed closely by the Ilyon Chronicles by Jaye L. Knight. (That’s the fantasy-loving-Ivy coming out. I know…don’t even bother trying to understand me. I’ve been trying for years and it hasn’t worked yet. ;-) )

#7 – Would you like to go back in time or forward in time?

Back. The future is too complicated. (The characters in my futuristic Never Alone trilogy will attest to that.)

#8 – Snow or rain?

Definitely snow. At least that is pretty both when falling and (usually) when on the ground. Rain is just…rainy. Droopy. Wet. And I hate being wet when I don’t want to be.

#9 – Name of a favorite character in a story you are writing?

Favorite character in a story I’m writing? That’s a tough one. I guess I’d have to say Chelsea Sanders in Ocean Hues. She’s very much like myself, yet entirely different.

#10 – Do you talk to yourself?

*Hiding face* yeah. Mostly in my head though.

#11 – Fly or breath underwater?

Fly! I’ve always wanted to do it! Actually, I tried it one time and landed myself a severely broken arm that led to a shoulder-height plaster cast for 7 weeks. (Stop laughing. I was 6 years old.)

11 random facts about myself. (These are always so hard…)

#1: I talk a lot. (Betcha couldn’t have guessed that one, huh? ;-) )

#2: I am a complete, total, over-the-moon dog lover. (Ask my dogs; they’ll tell ya.)

#3: I play 6 instruments.

#4: I am lactose intolerant. (Not real proud of that but it is what it is.)

#5: I would rather be warm than cold. Being cold is extremely painful to me. (I dream of tropical vacations away from snowy, chilly Washington…)

#6: I am always moving (wiggling, squirming, drumming my fingers, flexing my toes…)

#7: A-Beka Chemistry and I do not get along. At all.

#8: My mom taught me to read when I was 3. (Thanks Mom!)

#9: I have foot orthotics and wear knee and ankle braces because I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. (Not proud of that either but genetics are genetics. {Ehlers-Danlos is a connective tissue disorder, meaning that my tendons and ligaments don’t hold my joints together like they should.})

#10: I am running out of room on my bookshelf. (And it’s already been unloaded to the “main bookshelves” twice in the past 8 years.)

#11: I overuse parenthesis. (But you haven’t noticed, have you?)

Alright, now my 11 questions for my nominees:

#1: Dogs or cats? Or both? ;)

#2: Name your favorite villian. (Either in a book you’ve written or a book you’ve read)

#3: Chocolate or caramel?

#4: Night owl or morning person?

#5: When do you do most of your writing?

#6: What is your favorite book published before 1930?

#7: Who is your favorite character in a book you’re writing?

#8: Do you talk to yourself?

#9: Favorite character in a book?

#10: Summer or winter?

#11: Kindle or paperback?

Looking forward to seeing your answers!
