Honesty in stories. Truth in words.

Completely Random Awesomeness

I seem to be doing a lot of these posts lately. XD Sorry about that. But there is JUST SO MUCH EXCITING STUFF going on I have to share!!!!

Left to Die was reviewed by Annie over at JustCommonly. Go check out her glowing review and leave some love in the comment box.

I was reading a very interesting post about harnessing your voice as a writer, and I nearly tripped over myself when I saw my name. My book. COMPARED TO JANE AUSTEN. *dies* I still can’t believe it. But don’t take my word for it–go check out Liv’s post and listen to her awesome advice!

My blog got a new face! (about three weeks ago, but I have been busy so we are going to pretend that I am on top of things. *nodnod*) How is everyone liking the new design? Is there anything I should change?

I totally and utterly fell behind on my goal for MISSING. I have my reasons, and I also have reasons for not being upset about it. But I really do want to get this draft finished. So my new goal is September 16th. I would have pulled it back to the end of August, but since we literally have company/travel plans for more than half the month, I’m going to give myself the benefit of the doubt. :D

There are 1,000 comments on this blog!!! Can you believe it?!? Half of them are my replies (mwahahaha), but the other 500 are all of YOURS!!! Thank you so much!! Comments are the best ever.

I have a Twitter account now! Instagram remains my favorite social media platform, but I’m excited to give Twitter a try. Give me a follow and tell me what amazing writers I should follow!

I’m going to open up the application process to be one of my beta readers. Keep your eyes peeled for that post! :D

Guess who is coming to visit me in a few weeks? None other than the amazing Abigayle Claire!!!!!! She is going to be staying with me and my family for a long week, during which we will be attending the Oregon Christian Writer’s conference. Emily McConnell is also coming–we’re gonna have the best roadtrip ever!!!!! :D

What’s been going on in your life this month?

Ooh, lots of awesome stuff! I love the new look of the blog. Loved the review … the writer’s correct! I loved Left to Die. :) And Update #7 … I’m a wee bit jealous, but I’m also happy for you! Have a good time! :D

Great post, Ivy. How awesome that you got to read a review of your book! I’ve read both of your books and I must say that I think “Left to Die” was my absolute favorite of the two of them and is one of my favorites of 2017. I will definitely be reading your next book. I’ve read a few of your posts over the past couple weeks, though I think this is the first time for me commenting on your lovely blog. I look forward to reading more!

Oh my goodness, thank you for such high praise! Your comment totally made my day!

I look forward to having you around the blog more! Thanks for taking the time to comment!

    HI Ivy,

I looked at your instagram page and saw all your updates about your leg. Thank you for keeping it public so people who don’t have Instagram accounts (like me) can keep up with you. :) I have prayed for you and your leg off and on throughout the past few weeks when I think of you. Praise the Lord you’re doing much better and getting strength back.

Your new design looks very nice. I’m excited about your second Long Legacy book. :D

    much love,

Hi Ashley! I’m glad to hear that you’re keeping up with my instagram. :) Thank you so much for your prayers! I appreciate them so much! :)

Glad for you and Abigayle! I’m sure it’ll be fun and I can see you guys’ excitement! :D

I have a notice to make about your new blog face. . . on my phone I cannot get the “older posts” button to work! I tap and tap and tap and sometimes it suddenly works but often it doesn’t. My mother’s new Apple does it fine, though, so maybe it’s just my old Android??

About LTD. . . I read 2 chapters and I was IN LOVE. Yes, you totally create “Deep, relatable characters with whom you will weep and smile.” I wish I could make them like that too!!! How do you do it???

Keep on with “Missing”! I joined Camp NaNo but I wrote 427 words up to the 8th and then I let go. We’ve had a busy month and I had other projects (like reading 100 books in a year :P). It’s the first time I let myself, guilt-free, give up on a contest/challenge like that. But I’m glad. No stress. I will do NaNoWriMo (IF I can figure out what to write, ha ha!) though, Lord Willing.

“I have been busy so we are going to pretend that I am on top of things. *nodnod*)” You are one of my favorite bloggers. :) I love your style.

I’ll check the “older posts” function on mobile. Thanks for letting me know!

Hehe…thank you!! I don’t know how I do it. I don’t feel like I do a very good job a lot of the time. I guess I just try to make them realistic, and do that by paying attention to real people? I don’t know. *shrugs*

I’m glad someone appreciates my pathetic sense of humor! >.<
