Some Changes Around Here & A VLOG!!!

4

Over the holidays, I had a long discussion with myself about why I avoid blogging so much. Truth be told, I just don’t enjoy it. Writing articles isn’t my thing. People tell me I’m good at it, but why do something that I don’t enjoy? And blogging is supposed to be fun!

So with the three day marketing conference I had with me, I, and myself, I’ve decided to change it up and do what I actually like, which is videos.

I’m starting a YouTube channel.

Instead of 4 blog posts a month, I’ll be splitting my topics between blogs and vlogs. And I’ll be doing some lifestyle vlogs. And lots of other videos. It. Will. Be. AWESOME. :)

I’ve thought about doing a YouTube channel for a long time, but I’ve been too chicken to give it a try. But now? No chickenness!!!! I’m doing the thing! :D

That said, I’ve got a new video for ya’ll. Totally a copy of Katie Grace’s awesome video because she is all the cool things and she has lovely ideas. As it turns out, I got quite a lot of books in 2017–WAY more than I anticipated–and it turned out quite hysterical. Be sure to watch until the end for the blooper reel!

Are you excited for more videos? (I AM!!!!! :D)

    HI Ivy!

Yay! I love watching your vlogs and am so excited that you have started a YouTube channel and are going to be doing half vlogs and half posts! That is so fun! I like these new changes. :) Oh, and I liked seeing which books you got in 2017. Forty something books is a lot! I am going to count and see how many I got last year. I read some really good books last year. Let’s see….one of my absolute favorites was Enjoying God by R.C. Sproul. That was amazing, and I think you’d really like it.

    Have a lovely week!
    Blessings in Christ,
    Ashley

Yay! I love your videos and am very excited for your channel! I on the other hand prefer the writing to making videos…I’m camara shy;) Anywho, I’ve got to think of an excuse to go to my grandparents to see your new video, cause I can’t use my dad’s phone data:) Can’t wait!

Loved your video! It got me to thinking about all the books I got last year…probably pretty close to your total.

I can’t name my favorite read from last year, because it was a beta project and hasn’t been published yet. But runner up is probably a book I still reading called The Old River Road. Not sure if you ever heard of it…;) Seriously, I’m loving it and don’t know why I waited so long ti read it! Chapter 23 is where I’m at, so I’m getting sad that there’s not much left. Sequel coming soon?

      • Ivy says:

Yeah, it was a lot. XD

Oh wow, The Old River Road….I’ll have to take a peek at that one. :-P Hehe!!!! I’m glad you’re enjoying it so much!!!

        Sequel…hopefully!!! :D

Thank you!!! Hey, we need both kind of people in the world. :D I wish I enjoyed writing articles more. I guess writing books saps all the words from my fingers, though. ;-) Thanks for commenting!

  5. Your vlog was awesome! Let it be known that Katie Grace is just the person to copy xD

As mush as I still want to co-read Christy by Catherine Marshall with you, maybe we should pick a month to do Sense and Sensibility! I know we own that one and I’ve been meaning to read it for FOREVER. Plus, we watched the movie together ;)

Cold Mountain is supposed to be really good and is commonly assigned in schools as a classic, so tell me how that one is! I’ve heard great things about Susan May Warren, so you have to tell me how that series is too. xD I really want to read The Lost Girl of Astor Street! Someday soon. I think I have it on Kindle and now that I actually own a Kindle I have no excuses ;)

Aww, you’re so sweet <3 I love seeing Martin Hospitality appear in videos xD I don't know if I'll copy you and Katie and do a video like this or not, but I really want to know how many books I bought last year! So might as well. But first the VAVC B-)

So excited to see more Ivy videos in the future!!!

    • Ivy says:

Isn’t she though??? So much smartness. :D

I knowwwwwwww!!!!! We should just do both. Since we seem to be good at racing each other, maybe we’d actually get something read. ;)

Okay, I’ll definitely let you know! I’m excited about it. And about Susan May Warren, too. SO MANY GOOD BOOKS!!!!

Never know…you might get sick of me!!!!!! :D

One book I got in 2017 which I’m eager to read is “A Question of Courage” by Jesseca Wheaton. I read “A Question of Honor” last year and it was phenomenal, as you say—seriously my favorite book of the whole year (and I discovered some great books last year, like Amanda Tero’s “Journey to Love” and “Letter of Love” and “The Secret Slipper”)!! I’m eager to read “Courage” and excited for “A Question of Loyalty” to release!!
