HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO, everyone!!!!!!! :)

I have returned to the world of blogging. The month-long break was exactly what I needed. So amazing. Seriously, everyone should take a blogging break.

*ahem ahem*

Back to business. First and foremost is my VAVC #1 vlog!

(Wondering what VAVC is? Click here to learn more!)

By the way, thank you amazing people who have participated in the challenge already. I’ve loved watching your videos! Keep them coming!

I have a few announcements. *drumroll*

Firstly, I WILL NOT be participating in NaNoWriMo this year. *sobbing* It’s so sad. I can’t believe it. I really want to do it, but unfortunately, it just isn’t going to happen. Even so, I wish all of you the best as you peruse your NaNoish writing endeavors. Have some fun for me. *sniff*

Secondly, in a few weeks, I will be publishing my very first short story, Even Through Rain. And guess what the best part is? It’s going to be FREE!!! That’s right, F-R-E-E free.

Want to see the cover?

*Squeals* Isn’t it awesome!?! I’m so excited.

And thirdly: You must wait. I can’t wait to tell you. It’s super big and exciting.

How’s that for a teaser? (Mwa hahahahaha!)

Over the past few weeks, my family went on an epic vacation. I was gonna post a bunch of pics, but that isn’t happening right now. But here is a short video for you to see of how I write when traveling.

Well, now that I’ve been absent for the past few weeks, you must tell me what YOU’VE been up to. How’s life treating you? Any new story news? Can’t wait to hear from all you lovelies!

Writing Update

First, and update on my papa: He was moved into the ICU on Saturday morning and has been there since.  He is not doing very well.  Please pray for him.

And for a writing update:  Never Alone is still in the throws of editing.  I had aspirations of finishing this round of edits by the end of September, but Mom and I aren’t even on chapter 5 yet.  *GROAN*

For two people who have endless energy like my mom and I, we are horrible with sitting down to edit!  Sheesh!

Even though we’re barely 5 chapters in, I am wishing my mom were one of those moms who thinks everything I write is perfect.

She’s not.

Don’t get me wrong…she’s extremely kind and supportive.  But as an editor, talk about ruthless.  She’s perfectly nice in her ruthlessness but my goodness…I’m scared already for the rest of the book. :)  Will it even have the same plot by the time she’s done with it?  (Okay, that might be a little exaggeration, but you get the idea.)  :)

I have a young lady in line to do a professional line edit for me.  I am super excited about that!

I’m (very loosely) holding to the idea that this book may be published by the end of this year!!!!  Wouldn’t that be amazing?  (Don’t hope to hard…it’s a vague possibility).  :)

How is that spelled?

I’ve been without my computer for the past few days because of a hard drive problem.  All of my information was backed up, thank goodness, before the hard drive crashed (including my manuscripts, thank goodness!).  The Apple store replaced the hard drive and I just picked up the computer today, so I’m still setting up my ‘brand new’ computer and re-setting it to all my old specifications.  I missed my computer for the 2 days it was gone!  Don’t get me wrong…there are LOTS of computers in our house that I can use, but I love MY computer. :)  (Yes, I’m a bit of a snob.)

I recently learned that trying to write while half awake generally doesn’t go well for me.  Here is a conversation I had with myself not too long ago…I realized how funny it was and thought you might like to see what goes on in my rather twisted brain.

“Callie had forg…”

How do I spell that?

(enter red squiggly line under the word)

No, that’s not it.

(enter red squiggly line)

Ahh! Well I don’t think it’s ‘forgetted.’  Perhaps “Forgottonized?”

(Use spell check)

“Callie had forgotten–“

Please tell me I’m not the only one who has conversations with myself while writing.  I mean…I need to tell somebody about all these ideas in my head!  :)

This is one of my favorite quotes.
